Objectives
Polystochastic (PS) is a privately held RDT&E company founded in 2005 in Montreal area. PS provides scientific capability, for the industry and research labs as well as conducts its own proprietary research. PS is a dedicated capacity for modeling and problem solving in order to confront industrial complexity. By running conventional and unconventional models, methods and tests, sharing the best technological and scientific practices, PS is committed to complexity challenges and opportunities in the up-and coming industries. PS focuses on fourth industrial revolution projects implementation.
Foreword
Complex systems are commonly understood as multi-level systems resulting by non-linear interactions of several interdependent parts and displaying emergent behavior. Adaptability, evolvability, self-evolvability and smartness are the projected methods to break complexity frontiers. Smart systems are self-constructing, self-organizing, self-managing, self-maintaining, self-repairing, self-evolvable and involve several other self-properties and self-processes at the level of being able to act on their own behalf in a challenging environment of evergrowing complexity. Self-evolvability and smartness needs the replacement of the pre-programmed and fixed by the actively smart self-constructed. Ever growing complexity requires modification of RDT&E methodologies, needs new methods for problem solving, and finally imposes smart products, smart type of enterprises and organizations, smart society.
Associates
Complexity imposes a transdisciplinary approach based on physical & chemical, biological, cognitive, mathematical and socio-economical systems study. Consequently, PS associates have multidisciplinary background and decades of expertise in production and engineering, applied research and process analysis, as well as in business promotion. PS is related to several research development teams and laboratories or companies dedicated to complexity study, to the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution projects.
